"Walking the woollen sound dog"

When

July 18, 2024
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Ricardo Huisman, World Listening Day, 2024: “walking the woollen sound dog” with deaf and different hearing disabled children and their parents during the summer feast on the special primary school Kentalis in Amsterdam. When holding Puck, the woollen sound dog against your body (he likes to cuddles!) you hear en feel the sounds of composed soundscapes (“sensescapes”). The children and their parents can bodily experience sounds of dogs, birds, nature sounds, heartbeats, instrumental sounds, synthesizers like a music ecosystem. And a second special rhythmic soundscape composition incl. drum and bass to hear, feel  and evoke to dance. With special hearing aids and ci included they create their own personal “multi sensorial hearing perspective” (artistic research). There is a small exhibition of tactile drawing made with coloured pencils combined with all kind of tactile material including woollen blanket. They have made the tactile drawings after the experience of walking the woollen sound dog earlier this week. More information about the “woollen sound dog”:  https://www.facebook.com/sensescapes/
