In celebration of World Listening Day, take time out with your headphones to listen to a literary soundwalk in a beautiful landscape with a complex history in which nature is in the process of being restored.
While listening to #BuzzardView, you will be led by writer Ellen Wiles on a virtual loop walk around a stunning peninsula on the Holnicote Estate, Somerset. As the path proceeds through woodland, heathland, and along a striking coastline, you will discover the true story of this place and its fascinating history, extending right back to the Bronze Age, and through the Victorian era and WWII, and find out how the National Trust is currently working collaboratively to make this remarkable place even more of a haven for nature and for walkers into the future.
Written and produced by Ellen Wiles for The National Trust. Sound Recording by Ellie Williams. Sound Design by Nicholas Allan.
Listen via ellenwiles.com or on Apple Podcasts or Soundcloud. If you are in the South West, you can discover the locations that inspired the works in person at the Holnicote Estate at any time.
On Sunday 4th August, there will be an in-person creative workshop and listening event led by Ellen Wiles at Holnicote, hosted by The National Trust.
