Chigianaradioarte XI elabora un palinsesto di selezione di opere sonore di artisti visivi, relazione tra ascolto e pratica. Il suono degli artisti visivi infatti nasce nella loro pratica visiva e di per se sviluppa quella relazione unica in cui un’immagine o un’idea diventa suono senza però volerlo essere. Perchè il suono degli artisti visivi è come un opera e mai come un’opera musicale. In questa apparente contraddizione risiede una nuova pratica dell’ascolto.
Un po’ è come se l’artista avesse compassione della propria opera che è costretto a riconoscere, dalla convenzione, come visuale ma che forse in realtà la pensa sonora. In fondo un colore o una forma suonano come le note per chi sa vederle.
Chigianaradioarte XI develops a program featuring selected sound works by visual artists, a relationship between listening and practice. Visual artists’ sound, in fact, arises from their visual practice and in itself develops that unique relationship in which an image or idea becomes sound without intending to be so. Because visual artists’ sound is like a work of art, never like a musical work. This apparent contradiction lies in a new practice of listening.
It’s as if the artist feels compassion for his own work, which he is forced to recognize, by convention, as visual, but perhaps actually thinks of as sound. Ultimately, a color or a shape sound like notes to those who can see them.
Chigianaradioarte XI präsentiert ein Programm mit ausgewählten Klangarbeiten bildender Künstler – eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Verhältnis von Hören und künstlerischer Praxis. Der Klang bildender Künstler entspringt ihrer visuellen Praxis und entwickelt dabei eine einzigartige Verbindung, in der ein Bild oder eine Idee unbeabsichtigt zu Klang wird. Denn der Klang bildender Künstler gleicht einem Kunstwerk, niemals einem Musikstück. Dieser scheinbare Widerspruch liegt in einer neuen Praxis des Hörens.
Es ist, als empfinde der Künstler Mitgefühl für sein eigenes Werk, das er konventionsgemäß als visuell wahrnimmt, aber vielleicht eigentlich als Klang begreift. Letztlich klingen Farben oder Formen für diejenigen, die sie sehen können, wie Töne.
