 ay 2025 join sound artist Anne Marie Deacy for a sonic glimpse into the wo
 nderfully diverse habitat of Wild Nephin National Park\, through a live st
 reamed deep listening from 1 to 2pm.\nListen to the Wilderland Wild Nephin
  live stream here on the Locus Sonus worldmap.\nThis link will lead to the
  Locus Sonus live stream map of the world\, we are situated in Wild Nephin
  National Park in Co. Mayo\, in the west of Ireland so you can find us by 
 navigating to the west of Ireland and clicking on the microphone icon call

 onic lunchtime hour.\nThis is a LIVE STREAM from REMOTE WILD NEPHIN\, some

 esh the page.\nOne of the wonders of the area is that in a time of such te
 chnological advances Wild Nephin is one of the most unpolluted places in t
 he world and also home of Mayo Dark Sky Park\nLocus Sonus Stream Project i
 s a network of open microphones that stream the captured audio environment
  live from locations spread around the globe.They provide the technology a
 nd support for this project and the microphones are maintained by a networ
 k of sound artists. Over the last ten years this project has developed fro
 m a single remote microphone\, to become a worldwide pooled resource used 
 by numerous artists and enjoyed by countless listeners.\nWorld Listening D
 ay is celebrated annually on July 18th\,  established 15 years ago by th
 e World Listening Project\, to promote the importance of listening to the 
 sounds of the world and to encourage acoustic ecology. The date marks the
  birthday of R. Murray Schafer\, one of the founders of the Acoustic Ecol
 ogy movement &amp\; The World Soundscape Project in the 60’s forming the
  foundation of studies\, talks\, soundwalks and activities that link us to
  listening to and connecting with the diverse natural environments we are 
 part of.\nThe World Listening Project is dedicated to understanding the wo
 rld and its natural environment\, societies\, and cultures through the pra
 ctice of listening. By promoting active listening and acoustic ecology\, t
 he World Listening Project aims to raise awareness about the importance of
  sound in our lives and its role in shaping our understanding of the world
 .\nAbout Wilderland Project\nWilderland is a public art and community ecol
 ogy project in Mayo\, connecting people to their local environment through
  creative public engagement\, embedded research\, and art in the landscape
 . The project explores our relationship to nature\, and aims to raise awar
 eness for biodiversity and Wild Nephin National Park’s ecological restor
 ation plan to conserve Ireland’s only true remaining wilderness as a san
 ctuary for biodiversity and habitat preservation and to protect our natura
 l heritage for future generations.\nIt is a partnership project between th
 e National Parks &amp\; Wildlife Service\, Mayo Arts Service\, Mayo County
  Council Environment\, Climate Change and Agriculture Department\, North M
 ayo Heritage Centre\, TASC Think-Tank for Action on Social Change\, and ar
 tists working for sustainability and environmental awareness within the pr
