DESCRIPTION:Part of a wider project Listen to the Voices of the Fen\, by a
 rtist Kathy Hinde in Partnership with Wicken Fen and Babylon Arts to celeb
 rate the 125th Anniversary of Wicken Fen. Listen to the Voices of the Fen
  invites you to actively listen to the voices of many different species a
 t Wicken Fen\nLive Hydrophone Stream\nListen live to an underwater microph
 one submerged in a ditch running alongside Sedge Fen on the project websit
 e voicesofthefen.co.uk or on the  ‘locus-sonus’ soundmap\, streaming 
 soundscapes from all over the world to explore the ever-evolving relations
 hip between sound and place.\nSedge Fen is one of the last remaining fragm
 ents of undrained fenland\, and as such\, is a unique haven and one of the
  very last refuges for a host of fenland species dependent on the peatland
  soils and contains deep peat depths ranging from 2m-4m. It takes 1 year f
 or 1mm of peat to form. Not only does this rich and deep peatland act as a
 n important carbon sink\, and provide a valuable habitat for many species\
 , it is a holder of time. Connecting to the 2024 World Listening Day theme
  'Listening to the Weave of Time'\, tune in to listen to the submerged hyd
