SUMMARY:Community Project Initiative: Listening Through Other Ears
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided soundwalk through the UW–Madison campus\
, beginning at the bottom of Bascom Hill near Park Street and ending near
 Storyteller’s Circle.\nTogether\, we will walk slowly\, listen closely\,
and experiment with 3D-printed listening tools that invite us to hear fam
iliar places in unfamiliar ways. Along the route\, we will move through a
series of contrasting acoustic environments\, including open campus spaces
\, traffic edges\, enclosed courtyards\, Library Mall\, the Wisconsin Hist
orical Society\, Union Terrace\, the Lakeshore Path\, and Muir Woods.\nThi
s walk is an invitation to listen to spaces and think about how they are o
rganized\, designed\, and experienced acoustically. The 3D-printed listeni
ng tools will help us “zoom in” on different directions and frequencie
s of sound\, highlighting acoustic details that we may not usually notice.
Through this process\, we will become more aware of sound as both a physi
cal phenomenon and a lived spatial experience.\nNo prior experience with s
oundwalking is needed. All are welcome. \nPlease register using this link
\, and more information may be shared before the soundwalk: https://liste

eas that are not fully wheelchair accessible\, especially near Muir Woods
